It seems so cliché but I am going to start off with this beginning comment….. When I moved to River Hills in 1973, there was truly one stop light between Five Points and Charlotte. And while we enjoyed amenities such as the marina, golf, tennis, and the life on the lake; we didn’t have a true YMCA or an actual work out facility.

River Hills Country Club Swim Team
The River Hills CC Swim team, located in River Hills, is a competitive summer swim team open to children ages 4 to 18. Our team competes in the Metrolina Swim League along with teams from Tega Cay, Rock Hill CC, Lancaster, and Lake Wylie. Joining a summer swim team is one of the few competitive experiences which allows all children of a family to compete together on the same team.
River Hills Marina Club
When we decided to come home to the River Hills Plantation, we knew that a boat would be in our future. It didn’t take long before the Charlotte Boat Show beckoned, and after going “just to look,”we needed a place to dock the new boat. We joined the River Hills Marina Club in 2007 and have been members ever since. The Marina’s informal motto is “the best place on Lake Wylie to dock your boat is at River Hills Marina”, and in my opinion, that’s a solid fact. Set in Joe’s Cove, just off of the main channel of Lake Wylie, the Marina offers safety and seclusion for its members and their boats, yet we’re 2 minutes from the main body of the lake. It is also reassuring to know that River Hills Security patrols the landside of the Marina and the docks themselves, keeping a close eye on our valuable watercraft.

One of the greatest things about living in River Hills are the amenities. We have pools, a golf course, garden plots, play ground areas, and even a revolutionary war era cemetery. One thing, that is often overlooked, is that we are also very dog friendly. By my estimate, there are close to 300 families that have a four legged family member.
